MIRI: A group of 40 students and four teachers of Sekolah Menengah Vokasional (SMV) went on an educational trip to Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS), Miri region in Lutong here yesterday. They were welcomed upon arrival by the Students’ Affair officer and lecturer Dilah Tuah, who briefed them on the background and structural organisation of PPKS Miri as well as programmes offered in its Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM). The group was shown around the campus to see for themselves the various facilities available. The visit was also to celebrate the success of the PPKS Skills Camp held at SMV recently. Both the students and teachers were satisfied with the visit as they gained much knowledge and understanding of the role and management of PPKS. “We hope they get accurate information about PPKS and the education opportunities we offer so students have more options to consider on finishing their Form 5,” a spokesman said. Dilah Tuah said the date of registration at Miri PPKS is July 4. “SPM leavers who have yet to apply at any institution of higher learning or IPT can check out PPKS at www.ppks.edu.my. “Alternatively, they can contact PPKS Miri at 085-622198/622194,” he advised.
