PPKS reminded to take in more SPM school leavers

MIRI: Sarawak Skills Development Centre (PPKS) is reminded to actively take in SPM school leavers especially in the Telang Usan area to give opportunities to local youths to master knowledge in skills and technology.  Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau said it was difficult for SPM school leavers to get the latest information on courses or programmes offered as they are in the outskirt and have limited access to things happening outside their area.  “Therefore we would like to urge PPKS to intensify their promotion and intake from among students in Telang Usan in an effort to have youths there obtain the right information on skills and technical skills,” he said in his address during a visit to PPKS Lutong recently.  Present to welcome him during his visit was PPKS Miri regional director Khaninah Ariff, administration and financial manager Arni Moshidi, PPKS Kuching marketing manager Boniface Alin and students affairs officer Dilah Tuah.  “SPM school leavers who are left behind due to lack of amenities at higher learning institute can get educated at PPKS Miri and this will definitely help the students learn various skills before they enter any industry in the country,” Dennis said.
